Clyda Rovers juvenile Club was founded in the 1970's by a number of loyal Clyda members. For years previous to that Clyda Juveniles had
to play there hurling and football with neighbouring Clubs like Kilshannig and Buttevant. As Derry Cronin remarked when he recieved the
intermidate county cup in 1996, the people who founded the Juvenile club deserved great Credit for the success of the senior team.First
Called Mourneabbey the juvenile Club had instant success and almost every year brought a cup back to the parish.A number of people
always gave great service to the Club, people such as the Late Dinny Brien drove players all over North Cork in the 80's and more
recently Donie Mulchay put great work in during the late 90's.Today Clyda Rovers juvenile Club is in a very healty state under the
Chairmanship of John Roche.Particular praise however must go to the treasurer of the Club Tom Murphy. He has overseen the finances of
the Club for the past 28 years. If Clyda Rovers Senior Club is to continue the sucCess that it has had for the past number of years then the
juvenile club must continue its success, which i no doubt it will.

CLUB MEETINGS TO BE HELD ON THE LAST FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH.

CLYDA WIN NORTH CORK
CONGRATULATIONS to Clyda Rovers who pulled off the double on Sunday last, May 20, in Ballyclough when they were victorious over Liscarroll on a scoreline of, Clyda Rovers 2-5, Liscarroll 2-3.

Before the starting whistle, referee Bernie Casey asked both teams to stand for a minute's silence as a mark of respect to the late Mrs O'Brien, mother of Michael O'Brien of Liscarroll who is a North Cork referee and a Board delegate.

Clyda Rovers had a two point victory over Liscarroll in the Avondhu under 12 C football championship final which was played in an excellently prepared Ballyclough pitch and was well refereed by Bernie Casey, ably assisted by his umpires and linesmen.

It was a close and excellent game of football in which a high standard prevailed. It was a tremendous team effort by the Clyda Rovers team from their excellent goalkeeper to their nimble footed forward line.

In the first half Liscarroll had the edge over Clyda Rovers as they made good use of their chances while the Mourneabbey team were unable to convert their chances. This did not deter the great Mourneabbey team as two points were scored from the boot of Kieran Conway leaving a two point margin between the teams at halftime with Liscarroll leading on a scoreline of 11 to 02.

The management team of Con O'Sullivan, Brian Flanagan and John Nunan gave the Clyda Rovers team an encouraging pep talk at halftime which resulted in the whole team lifting their game in the second half.

This started with the first point of the second half being scored by Andrew Collier when he received an excellent pass from midfielder Ciara O'Sullivan. In the 42nd minute, Douglas Nunan put Clyda Rovers in the lead when he scored a brilliant goal after receiving the ball from Kieran Conway. After this well timed score, Clyda Rovers went from strength to strength. A further point from Douglas Nunan increased Clyda Rovers' lead by two points. Liscarroll regrouped and fought back well and scored a goal. n the 56th minute super sub, Patrick Lane, scored Clyda Rovers 2nd goal. The championship was secured when Andrew Collier pointed just on fulltime.

.ON Thursday night, May 3, the mighty titans of Mourneabbey took on their old rivals, Milford, in a highly entertaining u12 football league final,
which was played in Ballyclough with expert refereeing by Bernie Casey and his team.
In the first half, there was very little between both sides. Milford got off to a flying start, but Clyda Rovers stuck diligently to their task and
started to pull back Milford's lead.
In the second half, the Mourneabbey u12s picked up the pace of the game and gradually took the upper hand. From the goalkeeper to the forward line, the Mourneabbey marvels fought tooth and nail for every ball. This was a huge team effort, which
culminated in Clyda Rovers becoming the u12 N Cork league champions on a scoreline of Clyda Rovers 1-10, Milford 1-5.

Barry Ahern, the N Cork juv board chairman, in his address to the huge attendance, praised both teams for a very entertaining and sportin gcontest. He continued by praising Ballyclough for the great condition of the venue.
